Comparison and analysis of curative effects between iris localization combined with wavefront aberration guided LASIK and traditional wavefront aberration guided LASIK for myopia

Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical results between iris localization combined with wavefront aberration guided LASIK and traditional wavefront guided LASIK for myopia.Methods Fifty-one myopic patients(102 eyes),who received LASIK in our hospital,were randomly divided into two groups:experimental group(26 cases,52 eyes) and control group(25 cases,50 eyes).The experimental group received iris localization combined with wavefront aberration guided LASIK,and the control group received traditional wavefront guided LASIK.The naked visual acuity,higher order aberration,diopter and contrast sensitivity were compared between two groups at postoperative 1 month and 3 months.Results In experimental group,the intraoperative rotated angle of eyeball was 4.86°±2.82°.The mean pupil centric shift was(0.16±0.08)mm in the X axis,and(0.12±0.06)mm in the Y axis.Postoperative naked vision acuity at 3 months higher than preoperative best corrected visual acuity was 63.4% in experimental group,and 52.0% in control group.The postoperative higher order aberration was higher than that preoperatively in both two groups,but there was no significant difference between the two groups postoperatively(P0.05).No significant difference was found in diopter between two groups at each time point postoperatively(both P0.05).At postoperative 1 month,contrast sensitivity of both two groups decreased compared with that preoperatively,and decreased significantly under high spatial frequency 12.0 c·d-1,18.0 c·d-1(both P0.05).Contrast sensitivity recovered to the level as that at preoperation under each spatial frequency at postoperative 3 months.The rates of showing satisfactory and very satisfactory were 50 eyes(96.1%) in experimental group and 46 eyes(92.0%) in control group in questionnaire postoperatively.Conclusion Patients undergoing iris localization combined with wavefront aberration guided LASIK have slightly better postoperative visual quality than those undergoing traditional wavefront aberration guided LASIK.
