Abstract
Dioctyl maleate was synthesized from maleic acid and n-octanol using nano-H3PW12O40/SiO2 as catalyst, and the factors influencing on the yield of dioctyl maleate were investigated. The result showed that nanometer complex heteropoly was a good catalyst for synthesizing dioctyl maleate. The esterification ratio was up to 98.4% when molar ratio of maleic acid and n-octanol was 1:3,the amount of catalyst in reactants was 3%(base on 0.05 mol maleic acid),benzene was 10 mL,and reaction time was 60 min.
