Abstract

Solid super acid catalyst SO 42- /ZrO 2 was prepared and used in synthesizing dioctyl maleate and was compared with sulfuric acid and p-toluene sulfonic acid.The results showed that the solid super acid SO 42- /ZrO 2 catalyst had splen-did catalytic activity and could be reused for the synthesis of dioctyl maleate,immersing10hours in1mol /L sulfuric acid solution,baking2hours at550°C.The yield of dioctyl meleate was over97.4%.
