Abstract

Confined by the firm belief that Yijing started from the sages, the traditional approach of Yi-ology pays more attention to explain lines remarks which imply the sages’ philosophy than to the historical value conceived in the remarks. The school of historiography in Yi-ology with the representative Mr. Gu Jie-gang, in spirit of anti-tradition, aims clearly to pick the real ancient literatures out of the books on sages’ Dao and kings’ achievements, establishes a standpoint of construction based on destruction, and starts a approach of regarding Yi literatures as objective historical materials in which the historical stories are textual researched to study Yi externally. In addition, we need to find out that there are defects in its approach when studying the positive meaning.
