Abstract
The admittance characteristics of the periodic slot array were studied, from which a new method for equivalent circuit extraction was derived. The resonance mechanism of slot array was investigated based on parameters of the equivalent circuit. The results show that the trace of the array admittance in Smith Chart moves clockwise from low frequency to high frequency, which indicates its similarity with passive network. The agreement in transmission curves between the slot array and its corresponding equivalent circuit indicates the validity of the equivalent circuit model. And its application to the analysis of the influence of dielectric thickness shows that dielectric loading affects the equivalent capacitance, which leads to the change of the resonance characteristics.
