Abstract
This paper tries to define the sustainable arable land consolidation potential as the most effective use potential of land resources under regional consolidation goals and standards and under a premise of the sustainable development of resources,economic,social,ecological system.According to the characteristics of arable land consolidation in northwest mountainous regions of Hubei Province,this paper constructs the sustainable arable land consolidation potential evaluation index system using analysis method from the four aspects of resources,economy,society,and environment,optimizing and identifying this system using the cluster analysis,the Delphi method,and other methods.
