The Influence of Buddhist Stories on China's Medieval Novels

Buddhist culture enjoys a long history and profound meanings.Buddhism was brought into China in its heyday of the medieval Sui and Tang Dynasties and had far-reaching impact on Chinese culture.This paper discusses the influence of Buddhist stories on the Middle Ages novels from the following four aspects:a little additions and deletions from Buddhist stories,adaptation by imitation of Buddhist stories,creation by means of the Buddhist culture and the form imitation of Buddhist stories.
