Abstract
This paper tries to expound the complementation and combination between Confucianism and Daoism in three aspects conceived in Yi-ology: the interpreting object, the explanation for the Dao(lit.principle) and the view on the relationship between heaven and human being. The author believes that the meanings of the symbols in the Yi text are indeterminable once in the context different from the divination. This provides the pluralistic and unrestricted spatial expansion to comprehend and interpret the Yi symbols, hence, the symbols in the Yi text became the common original text and the important source for both Confucianism and Daoism. The Yizhuan(Commentaries on the Text of the Zhouyi),the classic interpretation of the Yi text, couldn't completely interpret the Yi according to the established thoughts of early Confucianism, but inevitably choosed to combine the Confucianism and Daoism.Based on the symbols of Yin and Yang in the Yi text, the Yizhuan proposed that The interaction between Yin and Yang is called the Dao,which provided the possibility to combine the thoughts of the two schools in the respects of methodology and philosophical framwork.Besides, the idea that The benevolent see bebevolence acknowledged pre-understanding and based on it the reasonable personal opinions came into being. This reflected the rigorous approach of Yi-ology and the broad academic vision and came to show the take-in-everything nature of the Confucianism, avoiding the extreme way in which Confucianism is interpreted the Dao.This is the major reason that the Yizhuan transcended the Confucian system and incorporated the Confucianism and Daoism into one.The Yizhuan interpreted the Zhouyi differently from the common Confucianin interpreting works, although we attribute it to Confucian classic. The concept of Dao in the Yizhuan,is neither the Dao of Confucianism nor that of Daoism, but the Dao of change which implies the Dao of the two schools. As for the relationship between the heaven and human being, the Yizhuan,on the premise that valuing the original meaning of the Yi text, greatly succeeded the established thinking in demonstration and the thinking connotation of the two schools. The Yizhuan attached importance to both heavenly Dao and humanism, constructed a complete system with the Yi characteristic of the unity of heaven and human being,in which it expounded from the heavenly Dao to humanism systemetically and communicably, and truly realized the the complementation and combination between Confucianism and Daoism.
