Humanitarian Intervention : Ideal and Reality in International Politics

Humanitarian intervention is a frequent phenomenon in international politics. Although the intervening countries may be well intentioned in their commitment to human rights, their intervention often turns out to be self intentioned, invasive or even colonialist. In addition, humanitarian intervention arouses intense debates over the relationship between human rights and sovereignty, and the results contradict their original ideal purposes. Intervention or non intervention has become an ethical and practical issue in international polities.
