Abstract

Objective:To find out an early diagnostic method for lung cancer. Methods:fluorescent spectrum was used to assay the serum of 110 patients with lung cancer, 100 patients with benign lung diseases and 35 normal persons were used as controls. Those fluorecence intensities in 625 nm being higher or lower than in 615 nm are defined as positive or negative respectively. Results:The number of positiveness was 77 in lung cancer group.6 in 10 patients with early stage lung cancer;16 in benign lung disease group (six in pulmonary tuberculosis),and 2 in normal persons. The positive rate in lung cancer group was much higher than that in benign lung disease group(P0.01)and normal person group(P0.01),and also higher than that of pulmonary tuberculosis group(P0.01),Different positive rate had different histologic types of lung cancer, the highest positive rate being adenocarcinoma(87.84%),the second, squamous cell cancer (71.43%),and the lowest, small cell cancer(61.11%).Conclusion:It shows from above resultes that there is of important referential value in using the analysis of fluorescent spectrum in the early diagnosis of the lung cancer, especially for nonsmall cell lung cancer.
