Abstract
The disadvantages of the conventional light guide plate (LGP) such as complicated structure and high cost are widely concerned nowadays. The research on novel technologies of light guide plate at home and abroad has made some progress. In order to design the LGP of integration, compactness and low cost, some methods are presented, including controlling the luminance angle by designing some kinds of structures on the surface of light guide plate,enhancing the utilizable efficiency of light with the polarized films or designing more excellent light guide plate with new material. This paper discussed the new technologies of light guide plate in backlight system, and made an expectation about the future of light guide plate.
