Abstract
Objective To analyze and summarize the clinical characteristics of pediatric Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia. Methods By using controlled clinical study 50 patients with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in Xinyi City People's Hospital between Jan. 2011 and Dec. 2011 were included as the group of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia. Another 50 children with bacterial pneumonia during the same period were included as bacterial pneumonia group. The clinical manifestations and examination indexes of the two groups were compared, mainly including the length of hospital stay, fever condition, high fever proportion, pulmonary symptoms and signs, etc. Results There were 32 cases( 64. 0%) of high fever 39 ℃ in Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia group, significantly higher than that of the bacterial pneumonia group with 21 cases( 42. 0%). Fever duration in Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia group was( 11. 2 ± 7. 4) d,significantly longer than that in bacterial pneumonia group( 6. 4 ± 2. 8) d( t = 5. 15,P 0. 05). Comparing the lung signs, the proportion of decreased breath sounds of mycoplasma pneumonia group was higher than the bacterial pneumonia group, while lung rale and the incidence of dry,wet sound were all higher than the bacterial pneumonia group( χ2= 19. 22,P 0. 05). Extrapulmonary complications incidence of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia group was significantly higher than the bacterial pneumonia group( 60% vs 32%,χ2= 20. 12,P 0. 05). Hospital stay in Mycoplasma pneumonia group was[7-37( 16. 2 ± 6. 2) d],significantly longer than the bacterial pneumonia group[4-16( 9. 2 ± 2. 4) d]( t = 7. 16,P 0. 01). Conclusion Infantile Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia is featured with common high fever, longer fever duration and hospital stay. Pulmonary symptoms are mainly paroxysmal, irritating cough, and the lung signs are not obvious, while rough and lower breath sounds are commonly seen, and extrapulmonary complications are frequent.
