Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of Butylphthalide soft capsules on diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods 60 cases of DPN were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.30 cases in treatment group were treated by Butylphthalide soft capsules.Control group received mecobalamin tablets. The changes of peripheral nerve conduction velocity, peripheral nerve conduction volatility and blood sugar before and after treatment were observed after eight weeks of treatment. The therapeutic effect was evaluated. Results Sensory nerve conduction velocity after treatment was enhanced as compared with that before treatment in treatment group(P 0.05,P 0.01).Sural nerve conduction velocity after treatment was enhanced as compared with that before treatment in control group(P 0.05).There was obvious difference between two group on sensory nerve conduction velocity after treatment(P 0.05).Sensory nerve conduction volatility after treatment was improved as compared with that before treatment in treatment group(P 0.05).Median nerve conduction volatility in treatment group was improved as compared with that in control group after treatment(P 0.05).There was no difference between before and after treatment on blood sugar in two groups(P 0.05).There was no difference between two groups on blood sugar after treatment(P 0.05).The total effective rate in treatment group(90%) was higher than that in control group(60%,P 0.05).The therapeutic effect of peripheral neuropathy in treatment group was superior to that in control group. Conclusion Butylphthalide soft capsules can reduce clinical symptoms of patients with DPN,improve nerve conduction velocity and conduction volatility.
