Abstract
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of traditional Chinese and Western medicine and ordinary treatment in severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).Methods Retrospective analysis of 86 SAP patients cases which were treated in our hospital during 1990 - 2005.40 patients in early period (control group) were treated with ordinary therapy and operation, while 46 patients in later period (treatment group) with salvia miltiorrhiza injection, Dahuang tang and mirabilite for external use. Results The disappearance of clinical symptoms, days of ascitic fluid absorbed, recovery of intestinal function were faster in treatment group than those in the control group. And complication incidences and operation rate were significantly lower in treatment group than those in the control group. Conclusions Treatment of integrated Chinese and western medicine in SAP patients could decrease operation rate, complication and death rate and shorten curative duration.
