Best time of glucose challenge test for patients with gestational diabetes mellitus

Objective:To investigate the appropriate sugar gestational diabetes screening(GCT) time.Methods:A retrospective analyzed of 182 cases of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) patients with information,according to GCT of the time,were divided into early pregnancy group(group A) in 53 cases and second trimester group(group B) in 94 cases and lasty pregnancy group(group C) in 35 cases,GDM occurred at a time and observe the final outcome of pregnancy.Results:GDM occurred in 18 to 32 weeks gestation,the peak occurs at 24 to 28 weeks,82.7%.Pregnancy outcome showed gestational hypertension,polyhydramnios,premature rupture of membranes,premature delivery,cesarean section,macrosomia,severe asphyxia,neonatal respiratory distress syndrome,hypoglycemia and perinatal death,group A and group B no significant difference(P0.05);but significantly lower than C group,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion:The best fime of glucose challenge test for patients with gestational diabetes mellitus is in the period of mid-pregnancy.
