Abstract

Objective Application of color Doppler ultrasound(CDU) to improve the diagnosis of ureteral calculi. Methods 288 cases of ureteral calculi were examined with two-dimensional ultrasound and CDU.The ureteral running was observed by CDU.The color Doppler twinking artifact behind the hyperechoic regions of suspicious stones was detected in order to detemine the existence of ureteral calculi. The end ureteral jets were observed in order to judge the existence of ureteral obstruction. Results Among the 288 cases there were 150 ureteral calculi focuses on the first and third narrow. There was no significant difference between CDU and general B-detection rate. There were 138 cases between the first and third narrow.B-detection detected 64(46%),and CDU detected 106(77%).Which showed more significant differences(P0.01),34 ureteral calculi cases were missed in detecting by ultrasonic.22 u-reteral cases had a reduction in the unmber of urine spraying and the signal weakened. Conclusions CDU can signifitantly increase the detection rate of ueteral calculi.
