Present Age's Hermeneutics' Reflection on the Understanding- Culture

The difficulties of modern civilization reflect the crisis of understanding-culture, which has gotten many scholars' deep concern. This article summarizes a main school of those scholars: philosophical hermeneutics. Philosophical hermeneutics' reflection to understanding-culture mainly focused on the domination of scientism. No matter the oblivion of being, and the limit of scientific reason, were all revelations to the essential defect of scientism. The domination of scientism made people forgotten the basis of human actual life, covered up the being itself with scientific view, and narrowed the cultural life with scientific life. Today, humankind has been the vagrant without home.
