Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of segmental arch technology and improved Twin-block appliance in mixed dentition of class Ⅱ division 2 malocclusion.Methods 14 cases with class Ⅱ division 2 malocclusion were selected.The patients were treated with segmental arch technology in maxilla,then they were treated with improved Twin-block appliance.Cephalometric analysis was conducted to evaluate the effect.Results Excellent effects were obtained in all patients.Overall a satisfactory occlusal result and appearance have been achieved.The mandibular moved forward obviously and the lower facial height increased.Conclusion Segmental arch technology and improved Twin-block appliance contribute to a harmonious relationship in mixed dentition of class Ⅱ division 2 malocclusion.
