The Construction of the State-level Demonstration Site for College English Educational Reform in a Local University:Innovations and Practice

In the past 5 years,65 universities have been authorized by the Ministry of Education as the State-level Demonstration Sites for College English Educational Reform.This paper reports how Yangzhou University follows College English Curriculum Requirements in the reform,what has been done in this university to reform and develop the college English curriculum and what effects such reforms have produced on both College English teaching and learning.In particular, the University's innovations have been made in such areas as curriculum design,educational methods,teaching practices,educational facilities and the assessment of students' performance.The construction of the Demonstration Site has set an example for other similar universities in the reform of College English education.
