EFFECTIVENESS OF INTERVENTION ON INFECTIOUS DISEASES HEALTH EDUCATION OF COMMUNITY RESIDENTS IN A DISTRICT OF SHANGHAI

[Objective] To understand the awareness and practice situation of key infectious diseases of community residents in Minhang District of Shanghai,to find out the key points of intervention and evaluate the effectiveness of intervention.[Methods] 2 communities were chosen from Zhuanqiao township by PPS and related intervention on infectious diseases health education were carried out for 6 months.All residents in the 2 communities were asked to answer the same questionnaires related to the awareness and practice situation of key infectious diseases before and after the intervention respectively.[Results] After intervention,the awareness rate and correct practice rate of some key infectious diseases of community residents were all improved significantly(P﹤0.05);the practice rate of eating cooked food and leftover were still higher,41.98% for local residents and 51.26% for mobile population;the rate of using condemn was still lower,26.72% for local residents and 42.02% for mobile population.[Conclusion] The comprehensive health education on infectious diseases for community residents is effective.Per-forming a long,comprehensive and lasting health education on infectious diseases in community is vital to significantly change some bad habits and realize the transition from getting knowledge,changing attitude to practice.
