Abstract

Objective To evaluate and observe the protection of taurine on cardiomyocytes in ischemia-reperfusion (I-R) in rabbit. Methods A model of I-R was performed. The rabbits were divided into two groups at random: normal control group and treatment with taurine group. Endothelin(ET) was detected before ischemia- reperfusion and after 2h of reperfusion. Results In the treatment group ET changed significantly (P0.05) after 2h of reperfusion while compared with normal control group. Conclusion Taurine can reduce ET and protect the cardiomyocytes in ischemia-reperfusion injury.
