Abstract
A Newcastle disease virus was isolated from pigeons suspected of having Newcastle disease, and was designated as strain QL,When inoculated into nine ten day old SPF chicken eggs, the isolate was pasitive in hemagglutination test(HA),hemagglutination inhibition test (HI),monoclonal antibody against NDV PEG Sandwich ELISA.The biological characteristics of the virus was determined by measuring the mean death time of chicken embryos (MDT),the intracerebral pathogenicity index(ICPI) and the intravenous Pathogenicity index(IVPI).The MDT,ICPI and IVPI were 105 hrs,1.33 and 1.0 respectively. The results indicated that the isolate was pigeon ND virus.
