Abstract
[Objective]To explore the influence of aripiprazole and risperidone on glucose and lipid metabolism of schizophrenia patients.[Methods]156 schizophrenics were randomly divided into two groups,78 cases in each group. The research group was given aripiprazole orally, the control group was given risperidone orally, for 8 weeks. The levels of blood glucose, blood lipid, serum prolactin and body mass index(BMI) were detected before treatment and 8 weeks after treatment, and the results of two groups were contrastively analyzed.[Results]There were no significant changes in levels of blood glucose, blood lipid, serum prolactin and BMI between before and after treatment in the research group(P0.05).In the control group, the levels of fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, serum prolactin and BMI after 8 weeks treatment were significantly higher that those before treatment(P0.01).There was no significant difference in detected indexes before treatment between two groups(P0.05).At the end of 8th week, the levels of fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, serum prolactin and BMI in the research group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P0.01).[Conclusion]Risperidone has obvious effect on levels of blood glucose, blood lipid, serum prolactin and BMI of schizophrenia patients, while aripiprazole has no harmful effect, which is worth popularizing and applying in clinic.
