Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of the permeability-glycoprotein(P-gp),breast cancer resistance protein(BCRP),lung cancer resistance protein(LRP) in the breast cancer tissue and paratumor breast tissue. Methods The expression of P-gp,BCRP and LRP were examined in 126 breast cancer tissues and 42 paratumor tissues by immunohistochemistry(IHC).Results The positive expression rate of P-gp,BCRP and LRP in breast cancer tissues were 41.26%、38.89% and 65.87%;The positive expression rates of breast cancer tissues were significantly higher than those of paratumor tissues(P0.05).②The expression of P-gp had a positive correlation with tumor stage and axillary lymph metastasis(r=0.298,0.283,P0.01);The expression of BCRP was significantly different in groups with or without lymph nodemetastasis(r= 0.369,P0.01).The expression of LRP had correlation with tumor stage(r=0.264,P0.01).③Expression of P-gp,BCRP,LRP had a positive correlation with expression of C-erbB-2 in breast tissues(r=0.282,5.942,2.42,P0.01,P0.05,P0.01).BCRP had significantly negative correlation with ER and PR(r=-0.354,-0.252,P0.01).④The carcinoma which negatively expressed P-gp and BCRP had a significantly longer 5-year survival rate(89.74%,48.98%vs35.14% and 29.63%) than those of positive expression(P0.01).Conclusion The three drug-resistance proteins are involved in the formation of multidrug resistance of breast cancer.P-gp and BCRP expression may help predict of breast cancer prognosis.LRP can not judge the biological behaviour of breast cancer.
