Compared study on treatment of retinal detachment with vitreous traction and macular hole with vitrectomy with gas injection and episcleral buckling of macular

Objective To explore the effects of vitrectomy with gas injection and episcleral buckling of macular in the treatment of retinal detachment with vitreous traction and macular hole.Methods 30 cases of retinal detachment with vitreous traction and macular hole were treated with cryotherapy and episcleral buckling of macular;65 cases of the same disease as the former were treated by vitrectomy with gas injection(C 3F 8).The follow up period was 6 to 24 months(average 9.5 months).Result The cure rate of the former was 86.67%,while that of the latter was 90.76%,the latter was higher than the former( P 0.05).And there was significant differences between their visual improvement after operation( P 0.01).Conclusion In the treatment of retinal detachment with vitreous traction and macular hole,the two methods have similar results in repostion of retinae,but vitrectomy with gas injection was better in visual improvement.
