Index and Evaluation of Ecosystem Health of Meijiang River

Based on the connotation of river ecosystem health,the index and evaluation system was built by three aspects of 12 indicators which including river natural structure,ecosystem,social services.Taking the main stream of Meijiang River for example,overall evaluations of many of the river were made by using evaluation method and mathematical model.The results show that although Meijiang River was in a state ofbasic level because of the overall health index that was 0.611,the index of social services which was less than 6 points was not good enough.It was because of the pollution of river water quality and navigation obstruction.
