Abstract
Objective: To investigate the DNA injury of neurons in hippocampus of filial generation rats induced by chronic poison of arsenic.Methods: Water with arsenic of different doses was given to matronymic rats in 2 weeks before pregnancy. Rats drank water without arsenic were the control group.When the filial generation rats were seven month old(from the birth),the hippocampus tissues of them were collected and prepared to single-cell suspension,and then,DNA was assayed with single cell gel electrophoresis.Results: The DNA in hippocampus was significantly injured by chronic arsenic poison.The injury degree was low in the low arsenic dose group,and was moderate degree in high arsenic dose group.The injury was significantly more serious in high arsenic dose group than those in control group(P0.01).Conclusion: Chronic poison of arsenic might cause hippocampus DNA injury or might increase injury susceptibility in filial generation rats.
