Abstract
The anti-seismic characteristic of gravity dam is a very important index of gravity dam safety.Based on the three-dimensional static finite element analysis of a center hole monolith of a gravity dam,the subspace iterative method is used for a modal analysis of gravity dam, from which the natural frequency of vibration and mode is obtained. And then the response spectrum method is used to make a dynamic analysis of dams.Seismic dynamic response of dams is checked. At last, the combination of both the static and dynamic stress is made with the principle for extreme strength condition, the combined response of dam is analyzed.
