SURVEY OF RELATED HIGH RISK SEXUAL BEHAVIORS OF MSM IN SHENZHEN CITY.

Abstract

Objective:To describe HIV/AIDS related knowledge,attitudes and high risk behaviors of men who have sex with men (MSM) in Shenzhen.Methods:Data were collected from 114 MSM with a cross-sectional survey.Results:Lack of knowledge of HIV/AIDS in MSM was found,which was mainly from newspapers and magazines.The rate of condom use was low.Only 31.6% were consistent condom users in the past six months,39.5% had oral sex,29.8% had body rubbing,49.1% had mutual masturbation and 77.2% had anal intercourse.In anal intercourse,21.1% were insertive partners,11.4% were receptive partners and 44.7% both.Rate of condom use for anal intercourse was only 40.4%;rate of HIV infection was 1.75%.Conclusion:Health education in MSM must be promoted to make them be aware of limiting the number of sex partners and increasing the rate of condom use.
