Briefly on Mou Zongsan's Study of Dong Zhongshu and its Significance

Dong Zhongshu occupies a key position in the philosophy or ideology of East and West Hans.Mou Zongsan's study of Dong not only linked Dong with Jia Yi and with the ages before and after the rule of Emperor Han Wu but also connected closely Dong with the back-to-the-ancients movement and the strategy of advocating only the Confucianism,getting rid of others.He analyzed the contribution and validity of Dong's thought and also pointed out his limits.Mou's methods of combining philosophy with history,politics,culture and aesthetics are still prospective and significant in giving lessons.
