Abstract
The paper established an optimization model with the target of minimizing the total cost of container shipping transportation, and it was applied to a shipping enterprise for optimizing the container shipping network. The impact of empty container leasing rates on shipping network rent strategy was also discussed. Results show that the proposed model is reasonable and effective, which can provide theoretical basis for better sea route choosing and the scheme of empty container positioning and leasing.
