Study of Digital Mapping with ArcGIS

Abstract

ArcGIS 8,a geographic information system(GIS) software is developed by the Environmental Systems Research Institute,Inc.(ESRI) of America.Combined with the use of ArcGIS 8 tools in the design of 5 large scale relief maps of scenic spots of Yuzhou in Henan Province,this paper shows the method to digital mapping with ArcGIS 8.It also explains the basic course of digital mapping and analyzes the advantage and disadvantage of map design with ArcGIS 8 finally.
