Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical effects of lamivudine add-on entecavir and lamivudine monotherapy on chronic hepatitis B( CHB) patients. Methods One hundred and fifty-six HBV-DNA positive CHB patients without HBV-YMDD mutations were randomly divided into combination therapy group( treated with lamivudine add-on entecavir) and control group( lamivudine monotherapy),and the course of treatment was set at 12 months. During the course, the serum HBV-DNA levels and HBV-YMDD mutation were detected both in combination group and control group on the 3rd,6th,9th and 12th month respectively. Results The serum HBV-DNA levels and HBV-YMDD mutations decreased, while negative conversion rates of HBV-DNA increased apparently in combination treatment group, when compared with control group on the 3rd,6th,9th and 12th month. Both HBV-YMDD mutation rate and HBV-DNA negative conversion rates had statistical difference between the two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusion Lamivudine add-on entecavir combination therapy demonstrated better curative effect on chronic hepatitis B patients than lamivudine monotherapy, worthy of popularization.
