Abstract
The sol-gel method is proposed for the preparation of a binary carbonaceous aluminium xerogel by using aluminium nitrate and sucrose as the raw materials. The aluminium nitride powder with high surface area was obtained by carbonthermal reduction reaction. The influence of reaction temperature and the amount of nickel nitrate doped on the preparation of AlN were discussed. The obtained AlN sample was characterized by XRD,SEM and N2 physorption. The results indicate that the prepared AlN has a uniform crystal size about 40-50nm,regular morphology, high surface area and sharp pore size distribution. However, the addition of nickel salt could accelerate the reaction rate of the yield of AlN remarkably and has a great influence on the AlN grain morphology, induces the AlN particle larger and the conglomeration.
