Abstract

To study the expression and clinical significance of nm23 gene, estrogen receptor(ER)and progestogen receptor (PR) in breast cancer. The expression of nm23, ER and PR was detected by immunohistochemical SP method in samples from 60 cases of breast cancer with full follow-up, and their clinical and follow-up data were also analysed. The positive rates of nm23, ER and PR were 60.0%, 73.3% and 66.7%, respectively. Expression of nm23 gene was correlated with clinical stage(P0.05). Expression of nm23 gene was negative correlation to distant metastasis and lymph node metastasis(P0.05) and positive correlation to overall survival rate (P0.05). Expression of ER and PR had no relation to age, clinical stages and lymph node metastasis (P0.05). Expression of ER and PR was negative correlation to distant metastasis (P0.05) and positive correlation to overall survival rate (P0.05). A positive correlation between ER(+)PR(+)and nm23 gene expression was found for evaluation of metastasis and prognosis. [Conclusion] Detecting the expression of nm23, ER and PR is helpful in evaluating the prognosis and treatment guide for breast cancer patients.
