Abstract

The dynamic scanning calorimetry(DSC) method was used to determine the reaction kinetic parameters of epoxy resin system of E-44/GA327 and phenolic resin of benzoxazine.Effect of rate of temperature increasing on the characteristics of DSC curves were investigated, and the curing procedure was determined. Results show that the calculated activation energies of benzoxazine and E-44/GA327 are of about 70.35kJ/mol and 44.04kJ/mol,respectively,the related pre-exponential factors are of about 1.27×107s-1 and 1.78×104s-1,and the reaction order are of about 0.897 and 0.884,accordingly.The optimum curing procedure is determined as 140℃ for 240min and then 180℃ for 240min,the degree of curing reaction of the casting of E-44/GA327 and benzoxazine reach 96.7% and 98.3%.The mechanical properties of the castings are excellent, which proved the determined curing procedure is feasible.
