Abstract
Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate was prepared without solvent by transesterifying di-methyl-o-phthalate with 2-ethyl hexanol in the presence of organic-tin as a catalyst. The influences of temperature, time, catalyst and the molar ratio of raw materials on the yield of the product were studied. The experimental result showed that the optimum conditions were as follows:reaction temperature ranged from 170~180℃,the catalyst was 1.0g,reaction time was 4.0h,the molar ratio between di-methyl-o-phthalate and 2-ethyl hexanol was 1∶2.10.The yield of the product could be up to 96.5%under the optimum conditions.Refractive index,IR and (()~1HNMR) characterized the structure of the product.
