Influence Factors of Top-coal Caving Ratio in Full-mechanized Caving Mining Extremely-thick Coal-seam

Abstract

With PFC2D software,this paper simulated top-coal caving rule in full-mechanized caving mining extremely thick coal-seam in Jindi Colliery,Xingxian,Shanxi Province,and analyzed influence factors of top-coal caving ratio.Results showed that with mining height added,top-coal caving ratio reduced.The influence of shield dip of powered support on caving ratio was analyzed.3m was thought as rational mining height to reach higher top-coal caving ration and mining efficiency by monitoring speed-time curve and arch-form frequency during coal and waste caving procedure.In actual mining,mining parameters including mining height was 3m,ratio of mining and caving was 1∶3,coal cutter web was 0.8m,mining two and caving one obtained higher top-coal recovery,which showed these parameters could be adopted in this mining face and those with similar conditions.
