Abstract

To study the electrophoretic preparation method and antibacterial activity of antibacterial peptides from Hyalomma dromedarri haemolymph, the haemolymph was collected from adult female ticks, and extracted with 5% acetic acid. The components of cationic antimicrobial peptides from haemolymph were analyzed by AU-PAGE.The antibacterial peptides in samples were screened with polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis dispersion methods. Results showed that antibacterial peptides had strong antibacterial activities to Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus in vitro,a case of faster-moving than lysozyme was found. In conclusion, there are antibacterial peptides which differ from lysozyme in Hyalomma dromedarri haemolymph.AU-PAGE is a simple, fast, economical method for antibacterial peptide purification.
