Abstract
People pay much attention to the Confucius′ contribution of poetics but less to the social development background of propriety disintegration and poetry status declination in Western Zhou dynasty.It is Confucius who made Poetry regain the classical significance of kingcraft and rites-music at that time.Confucian poetry ideas led to the differences of Mencius poetics and Xun Zi′s poetics and influenced the poetics interpretation of Confucianism in Han dynasty
