Abstract

The semi-solid aluminum alloy was prepared by a newly self-developed mechanical stirring machine for preparing continuous semi-solid slurry, and was reheated during semi-solid state;the changing principle of semi-solid microstructure was studied under different reheating temperature or time. The results show that the higher the holding temperature, the faster the grains grow up and sphericize, the shorter the holding time;the mean diameter of grains increases, the grains are sphericized and the liquid fraction increase with the prolongation of isothermal holding time. The suitable temperature of semi-solid Y112 aluminum alloy reheating is 565~575℃.
