Abstract
In this paper,the mechanisms of temporary pier arrangement for long span cable-stayed bridges are analyzed,the situations of the pier arrangement for the cable-stayed bridges at home and abroad are investigated and the structural features of the main bridge of Shanghai Changjiang River Bridge,the plan arrangement and structural design principles of the temporary piers for the Bridge are introduced.On the basis of the simulation analysis and research of the key load cases,the considerations of construction techniques for the inserted and synchronous hydraulically-lifted temporary piers are put forward and successfully applied for the first time.
