Abstract
The influence of heat treatment process on structure and properties of Cr 12 cast iron with pearlite existing in its as-cast structure was studied. The test showed that the highest hardness was obtained when quenching temperature was 1 050 ℃. As the tempering temperature increased, the microstructure also changed and the hardness increased so the wear resistance was improved. When this type of cast iron used for producing grinding balls the optimal treatment is quenching at 1 050 ℃ + tempering at 400 ℃~500 ℃.
