On the Characteristics of Frontier Fortress Poetry in the Yuan Dynasty

The frontier fortress poetry,with its long history,is an exotic flower in the garden of Chinese poetry.It started from Book of Songs,and prospered in the Tang Dynasty.In the Yuan Dynasty,the enormous changes of time and space and the diversified writers gave the frontier fortress poetry new characteristics,such as remote aesthetic perspectives,rich and extensive contents,creative use of the form of suite poems,and rewriting of the old themes.The frontier fortress poetry in the Yuan Dynasty inherited and innovated the tradition of the frontier fortress poems,and developed a unique style and brought a great influence on the poetic creation of later generations.
