Discussion on serialization of new type AC drive electric locomotives

Abstract

A proposal of AC drive freight locomotive series and AC drive passenger locomotive series is presented in this paper. This is worked out after analyzing traction demands under different load and line conditions for fulfillingthe requirements of Chinese railway technical policy and railway jumping development. From calculation, new development of 6 axle 7 200 kW AC drive passenger locomotive for speed of 200 km/h should be set out for hauling 1 100 t passenger cars with 200 km/h.
