Abstract
Sodium bisulfate can be used as catalyst for the esterification instead of sulphuric acid.Isopropyl chloroacetate was synthesis by 0.1 mol chloroacetic acid with 0.2 mol isopropyl alcohol,0.5 g sodium bisulfate monohydrate (NaHSO 4 ·H 2 O) as catalyst,15 ml cyclohexane as solvent, reflaxing and water segrating for 2.5 h,the yield of ester could reach 83%.
