Comparative Study of the Development Characteristics of the World Male Vault and its Level between China and Other Countries

With the athletes who attended the finals in the 42th,41th World Championships,Beijing Olympics,the 16th Asia Game and the 11th National Games being the research objects,the paper made a comparative study of the characteristics of male vault and the level of it between China and other countries.The results suggest: the average score D of the vault finals has risen to nearly 7,with the highest score of 7.2 for single actions.There is little room for the athletes to continue to improve the difficulty of movements,and the improvement of the quality of finishing the movements based on the required ones should be focused.As to the movement types,handspring techniques consist of half of the total,and the number of many-circle somersaults and body turns is almost the same.European athletes have overall advantages in this game,and there is a gap between Chinese level and the world level on the difficulty and quality of movement completion.Only if the mechanism of official achievements assessment is changed,can we make great efforts from the strategy of sustainable development and manage to catch up with the development trend of the vault in the world.
