Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of probiotics on cellular immune function, endotoxin receptors expression on peripheral blood mononuclear cells, serum cytokines and plasma endotoxin levels in patients with posthepatitic cirrhosis. Methods 100 cases of liver cirrhosis patients were randomly divided into tri-probiotics capsules group(treatment group) 50 cases, and conventional group(control group) 50 cases,The control group were given conventional treatment The treatment group on the basis of conventional given to tri-probiotics treatment,Course of 14d.Another option for the 30 patients with normal control group,The levels of Fecal flora、T lymphocyte subsets、Cytokine and endotoxin were measured before and after the treatment. Results The intestinal flora in liver cirrhosis group were higher than the normal control group(t = 2.312,P0.05;t = 2.531,P0.01);The count of intestinal flora and Bifido-bacterium in 2 group after treatment were(9.46±1.54) and(10.30±1.11) lgCFUg-1) than before treatment(8.53±1.55) and(9.46±1.09)lg CFUg-1 increased significantly(t = 2.231,t = 2.345,P0.05);In treatment group after treatment CD3+(63.75±3.74)%,CD4+(33.56±3.36)%,CD4+/CD8+(1.42 ±0.26)% was significantly higher than control group(53.98± 3.93)%,(26.02±3.61)%,(1.00±0.16)%(t = 2.841,t = 2.911,t = 2.945,P both0.01);CD8+(24.27±3.64)% lower than the control group(26.90±3.13)%(t = 1.741,P0.05);The levels of IL-1β,TNF-α,IL-10 in 2 groups pre-treatment were significantly increased than the normal control group(t = 2.231,t = 2.122,t = 2.135,t = 2.318,t = 2.201,t = 2.259,t = 2.470,t = 2.311,P both 0.05);before and after treatment 2 group had no significant change in the above-mentioned index. Conclusion There are cellular immune dysfunction and chronic inflammation in patients with cirrhosis, and probiotics may improve these abnor malities. The tri-probiotics probiotics may be considered as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of chronic liver disease.
