Abstract
Pichia pastoris has been one of the most successful heterologous gene expression system recently.It possesses the advantage of eukaryotic cell and has the potential to perform many of the post translational modifications typically associated with higher eukaryotes.These include cleavage of signal peptide,disulfide bond formation and glycosylation.A variety of heterologous proteins have been expressed in this highly successful system.Some characteristics and advantages,compositions and procedures of gene expression system of Pichia pastoris were reviewed.
