Abstract
Today Pichia pastoris has developed into an attractive systems in the foreign gene expression because of many particular characteristics in its biology and genetics. A variety of heterologous proteins have been produced in this highly successful system. Here, we review some characteristics of Pichia pastoris and the strategies for more production of proteins in Pichia pastoris as a foreign gene expression system.
